Abby (family member since June 2021).
Abby was brought to me by plantation workers who had found her in the bush hiding from stray dogs. At the beginning she couldn’t walk (her hind legs appeared to be paralyzed), had a massive infection around her spine and four deep wounds which looked like bite marks. Even the vet gave her a grim prognosis after X-rays were taken. Luckily the antibiotics worked and got the infection under control, but her legs were still not moving; she had no feeling in them. I did rehabilitation exercises with her three times a day which she always looked forward to. I would call ‘Abbyrobic’ (my word mix of Abby and aerobic, lol). After a few weeks she started to move - first her tail, then she tried to push with one leg and finally took her first steps. I couldn’t be happier - proof never to lose hope! Now she’s a strong dog who loves to run around rough housing with the others. I love her so much!
